Weldon and Sharla Ganaway
Weldon Ganaway was born in Roswell New Mexico in July of 1962..
Weldon lived in Hobbs New Mexico for a few years and moved to
California were he grew up and went to school. Weldon moved back
to Hobbs were he worked at his dad=
s gas station and went to New Mexico Junior College were he got
his mechanics certification. Then, life lead Weldon back to
California were he built houses for thirteen years. Next, Weldon
moved back to Ruidoso Downs to be closer to his family. Weldon
now resides in Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico were he teaches
ballroom dance at night. Weldon works during the day at Western
Auto were he has worked for ten years. Mechanic by day ballroom
dancer at night what a combination.
Sharla Frenzel was born in Tyler, Texas in November of 1978.
Sharla went to Gladewater High School were she graduated in
1997. Sharla worked at a dead end job for a security company she
needed a change. Sharla moved to Ruidoso to get an education at
ENMU Ruidoso. Sharla worked at Walmart for two years needing a
job change. Sharla went to work at a grocery store called
Thriftway where she has been for three years. Sharla is
currently the night manager. Sharla dances any time she gets a
chance. Sharla resides in Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico were she
helps Weldon teach ballroom dance.
Weldon started taking ballroom dance with a friend Andrea
Reed. Weldon took dance from Carol Ann Clark in Alamogordo for
three years. Weldon loved to dance so much he wanted to teach.
Weldon received his first half of certification in American
Style Smooth July of 2001. Then, Weldon completed his other half
of certification in American Style Rhythm August of 2003.
Weldon started teaching at Dance Gallery for four years.
Then, he decided that he wanted a studio of his own. Weldon and
Sharla Ganaway started Mountain Dance Academy on November 1,
2006.
Weldon and Sharla believe that dance is an expression from
the heart. Dance is a great form of exercise and is fun to do.
Weldon and Sharla believe dance can be achieved with hard work
and dedication. Weldon has been dancing for eight years and
Sharla has been dancing for five years and will continue to
teach dance to anyone that wants to learn.
